1979
General Motors proposes a new Cadillac franchise for San Antonio and receives offers from around the country. GM awards the franchise to Ken Batchelor, a 10-year veteran of Sewell Village Cadillac who has been dedicated to customer service all his life. One of Ken's first official acts: invite Carl Sewell to be his business partner.
1980
Ken Batchelor Cadillac holds its gala grand opening, and I-10 and Huebner becomes a new landmark in the automotive world. Customers eagerly respond to the Sewell philosophy of service introduced to San Antonio by Ken and his dedicated Associates.
1981
Ken Batchelor Cadillac receives its first Master Dealer Award, an honor reserved for the 12 dealerships in the region that meet unsurpassed standards of service and customer satisfaction. The dealership will garner this coveted distinction year after year after year.
1984
With business growing, Ken invites his friend and former co-worker from Sewell Village Cadillac, Randy Baker, to join him as sales manager. Within a few years, Randy becomes general manager and managing partner. Also in 1984, a body shop opens, introducing a new dimension of professionalism and craftsmanship to San Antonio.
1985
A mainstay of the business gets some much-needed elbow room. The pre-owned vehicle facility opens, helping more pre-owned vehicle customers than ever discover the Ken Batchelor and Sewell service experience.
1990s
Customers fall in love with Ken Batchelor Cadillac's service, and our string of Master Dealer Awards, beginning back in 1981, continues.
2000s
A whole different category of vehicle arrives at Ken Batchelor: bulldozers. They clear away the dealership's original 1980 home. In its place rises a magnificent new facility, showcasing Cadillac, HUMMER and Saab with three distinctly spectacular presentations.
2007
Remodeled service drive, refurbished service reception area - we never stop polishing the experience we offer our customers. Throughout the year, a whole new pre-owned facility is constructed and completed. All the while, some of the most dedicated professionals in the industry obsess about more ways to better serve you.
2009
Ken Batchelor introduces its full service collision center to the San Antonio market. With state-of-the-art repair and testing equipment, our store adds the capability to restore almost any car to its original state. Our repair facility is I-CAR Gold Certified, one of the highest recognitions for collision repair.
Today
As we embark on our fourth decade of serving the San Antonio community, we are proud to be ranked among the top 10 Cadillac dealerships in the United States. Our obsession with service is stronger than ever. We hope to share the unique Batchelor experience with you soon.
